Iron Lightning Pt. 10

Early the next morning, the gate to Winnipeg is buzzing with excitement as last preparations are made for the race. Lightning and his competitors are harnessed up to their sleds, each carrying a carefully and evenly measured load of cargo. Each stand by the national flag of their homelands. The only less-than-happy individual present is Toby Tanner, frustrated that his latest article on Lightning is all the way on the back of the newspaper.

"Starting order will be luck of the draw!" Dallas announces from the stage. "We send you brave racers off with the pride of many nations on your shoulders. Good luck and Godspeed! Get ready to race!"

Lightning braces against his harness, pumping himself up as the starting gun is shot. The first racers instantly dart down the pathway, passing the cheering crowd. At the swing of his flag, Lightning leaps forward against his ropes, quickly catching up with the others. Sam, Hilmar, and the others all start at a steady pace, spreading out as they get to the open range between the town and the woods. Young McQueen, however, is much too excited to stand it and can't help but bolt down the path at full speed with his tongue out and flapping in the wind. Some of his competitors are shocked - others are disgusted.

"Keep up that pace, they'll be burying you in Canadian ground!!" Hilmar calls up.

Sam steadily keeps up his pace. "Slow down, kid, where you going in such a hurry?"

"St. Paul, Minnesota!!" Lightning hollers back. "KA-CHOW!!"



Soooo........yeah. I'm going to redo those sleds. I think. I just needed to start with something. Also, you should be seeing pictures of Dallas Baxter and Miles Clipper soon - I realize I haven't done any pictures of them yet.

I need to start looking into getting a tablet. And a new version of Photoshop. I have to get on my old computer now to do any digital art. Anybody have a suggestion of what kind of tablet and/or Photoshop I should get?
