Not in my book. I think something/someone else was at work here for Randall to fall quite as hard as he did. And heeeeere he is.

Name: Silvester "Silver" Boggs
Monster Race: Herpien/Lacertilia
Age: 25 at the time of Monsters University, 35 at the time of Monsters, Inc.
Notable Features: Silver is an iconic "tough guy" and has been the instigator or several prison brawls. Because of this, he's gained a network of scars over the years. The most notable injury Silver has to show, however, is his tail - permanently mangled, broken at two different points. It's easy to pass this off as just another result of a prison brawl, but only his family knows that he's had it since he was a child. And that those two broken points are a result of an iron grip.
Scaring abilities: Not only can Silver blend into his surroundings like the rest of his family, but he's perfected a scare tactic known as "The Rattlesnake Wake".

Bio: Silvester Boggs, called Silver by all who know him, is Randall's big brother by seven years. And as you'd assume with most villains, the brothers' family history is pretty messed up - but not in the way you'd expect.
By the time Randall was born, the brothers' father, Ian, had left the family. And for the better. This man that was the carrier of the Boggs name was a monster in every sense of the word. Both Silver and Elsa (the mother of the boys) endured brutal cruelty and abuse from Ian for the several years before Randall came along. When he heard that a second kid was on the way, he wasted no time in getting out of the picture.
Without his father to physically and emotionally demean him, Randy had a much more enjoyable childhood by comparison. And yet with the void in his life left by his father, he depended on his big brother to fill that. Which, for the most part, Silver did just that. The two were like any brothers, clashing and arguing and at each others' nerves many times. Yet at the same time, Silver was a monster Randy looked up to more than any other. From controlling his invisibility to football to learning how to throw a punch and defending himself, he learned it all from his big brother. And yet at the same time, all of this came with a dismal mindset left on Silver from such a brutal childhood - trust no one, because they might end up trying to hurt you. Build yourself up to be stronger than anyone so YOU are the one that is feared. Command respect and you will get it, no matter what.
This lesson resonated in his little brother's head for years, but Randall still maintained a sweet demeanor. But as we know, when the brothers split ways - Silver to a scaring job at Monsters Inc. and Randy to the college life of Monsters University - things drastically changed. And ROR was just the beginning of the downfall. ROR reiterated to Randy that mentality of "command respect and you will get it, no matter what" and he finally began to give into it. But the final nail in the coffin came when Randall graduated college and was perplexed to find that his brother didn't attend. He then learned that his brother was banished to the human world because of the first acts of (what would be a long line of) crimes in Silver's criminal career. It was here after all that had happened that Randall realized everything his brother had taught him had to be true. And with that in mind, he made sure to make a feared name for himself the moment he was hired as a rookie Scarer.
By the time of Monsters Inc., ten years after Randall made that decision, Silver's criminal charges have only climbed in number. After escaping back into the monster world and committing a murder, it was decided he was too dangerous to leave in even the human world. He now lives in the high-security prison of Monstropolis, which he knows can't hold him there forever. Randall does go to him now and then to visit - but after all that's happened, their relationship is very strained.

SO………I actually created this guy (or at least a prototype of him) yeeeeears ago. Like, back when the first Monsters Inc. came out. But all I knew is that he was Randall's brother and he was colored silver. After the prequel came out, his use skyrocketed to awesomeness.
And this might not be his absolute final design. Monsters can be VERY varied, and I've still yet to really design what the parents looked like. I'm aware he does kinda look like a color-reversed Randall, yes. XD I just really wanted to introduce him.
