Description

WARNING CITIZENS OF IRK

The Irken Elite Task Force (IETF) is on high alert in search of two rogue smeets.

NAME - "ZIM"
PROGRAMMED INVADER CLASS
NOTED DEFECT BEHAVIORS - BRASH, DISOBEDIENT

NAME - "PENN"
PROGRAMMED BIOCHEMIST CLASS
NOTED DEFECT BEHAVIORS - DISOBEDIENT, RECKLESS

Both have been accountable of several federal offenses, including but not limited to arson, negligence to duty, and resistance to the Elite Task Force. They are armed with uncontrolled and possibly malfunctioning Irken defense technology specific to their programmed classes. These smeets are to be considered as defectives until further notice.

Extreme caution is to be used around them at all times. If spotted or apprehended, citizens are required by law to notify the IETF immediately. The sentence for their misdeeds may range anywhere from imprisonment to PAK deactivation.

Your Tallest thank you.

Wow...... I haven't really gotten to draw anything for myself since Christmas. ^^; I missed it!!! I recently started watching Invader Zim again, I had forgotten what a great character Zim is. :D And I remembered I had brought up Penn a time or two before, so I decided it was time to bring her back and build on her story with Zim a bit. And I am now CONFIRMING that they have no romantic involvement with each other when older. They're technically adopted siblings.

SO HERE'S THAT STORY. In the universe of my dear gal :iconcryssy-miu:'s story.

Zim and Penn were both considered "defects" during training as they liked to experiment and explore with their trades a bit too far beyond what was allowed. Zim had a knack, as we know, to leave a wreck everywhere he went and was not very good at following orders. Penn's problem was her reckless and overly-curious nature - not a good thing to have in chemistry when what you're going to do is test a mix just to see if it'll create an explosion big enough to bring down the classroom.

When the smeets go too far, they wind up ruining each others' escape attempts from the police and are both captured. They're then tossed into the the den of the Warpatho - a hideous monster specially kept by the Irkens to punish criminals. Let us remember that these guys don't care how old those criminals are. While Zim and Penn downright hate each other for getting them caught at the moment, they're forced to work together and depend on their PAK defenses they haven't quite learned to control yet. They barely manage to outsmart the monster and hide long enough to survive the time in the lair.

After that, the two just become a bit of a dysfunctional team, not changing their mischievous ways in the least but always managing to slip their way out of the IETF's grasp much more with two heads rather than one and basically become the local delinquents. Awesome fun for a couple of curious little rogues who would rather have nothing to do with rules!! They don't realize, however, that the longer they carry this on, the higher and more consequential the warrant for their arrest goes.

Meanwhile, Mala - an Irken Elite in line to become the next Tallest - has noticed and taken curiosity in this pair of evasive little smeets. Being unlike most Irken authority figures, she becomes more and more concerned as punishment gets steeper for them upon capture. Soon the order is put out for the smeets' PAKs to be destroyed upon first sight - and Mala cannot let this go futther. She manages to find the two before the police ever do, and convinces them that she only means well for them. After some serious coaxing, she takes the two in as her own. She keeps them safe from elimination and - for the first time in their lives - adjusts them to the idea of living under and obeying an authoritative figure. But in an unheard manner for the rest of the Irken world, she also raises them with the unbound love and wisdom of a mother. She tragically dies around the time her smeets are ready to move from training into their respective trades. Between this and their true destinies in the Irken trades, Zim and Penn grow apart. But they're ready to show the Empire what they can do.

Nothing can go wrong, right...?

THAT WAS LONG. O_O Or felt like it was. Whoa.

Thanks to an awesome Irken Eye tutorial by :iconwindw0lf:!! It works wonders!! :D Also, how the the lighting look? I was inspired by the tutorial to use the same principal for the shading.
